Tussauds Studios, Acton, London

The conversion of an existing light industrial unit built originally as a light aircraft manufacturing facility, subsequently used as a car assembly plant and high-tech research facility. The accommodation provides production facilities for Madame Tussauds, including sculpture studios, engineering workshops, offices, design studios, animatronic assembly shop, wax modelling and plaster workshops.

The existing north-facing monitor roof lights have artificial lighting that automatically provide levels of lighting to sensitive work spaces such as hair insertion and colouring department. Daylight standards can be maintained at all times.

Cafeteria facilities are provided in an atrium occupying what had previously been an external courtyard. Various departments overlook this space.
